In addition to a post here and there, I'm gonna post game reviews and possibly class projects (in im a bunch of photoshop classes)
Imma start with ...
EVEonline, SciFi/MMO, (2/5)
I downloaded the trial of this.
It's definitely not a "new player friendly" game. I'd love to pursue it and have a hella pirating ship, but the time it takes to get to that point is just too long!
The game game itself is very unique and has a massive amount of different things that you can do. Including mining, mission, making items, pirating, pvp, etc etc. But like I said, to get to the point to be able to do any of that takes a while.
I talked to a few players in the game and they all told me the same thing, "It takes at least 1 or 2 months to get a decent ship" ... a "DECENT" ship. To me that ridiculous for one game + a factor of the game is that your ship is destroyed ... it gone. Just like that. You can get insurance for it and get money back, but the insurance doesn't pay for the equipment that you have attatched to it (i.e guns, electrical stuff, extra armor, etc etc).
Something else that I didn't like was how empty the universe in it is. Imo, the game devs made the EVE Universe WAY to huge, but this was probably because they thought it'd bring in more players than it actually does. So since the universe is empty in most of its Systems, traveling to the areas where other players are takes a huge amount of time. And when you get there, and you don't have a decent ship, you're dead.
So pretty much this game had potential to be awesome, but the game devs made it too hard for new players to pick up them game and have a good time from the start.
Thus a 2 outta 5, imo.
»Also, it has a monthly fee >_<
